What Is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate is a written estimate of the expected charges for your therapy services. It is designed to help you understand and plan for the cost of your care before services begin.
Because therapy is individualized, the total number of sessions and overall cost cannot be guaranteed. Your estimate is based on the information available at the time it is prepared and may change if your treatment needs change.
Who Receives One?
You are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate if you are paying for therapy yourself and are not submitting claims through insurance.
Rooted Counseling and Family Therapy provides Good Faith Estimates in accordance with the No Surprises Act.
Your Rights
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before services begin.
You may request an updated estimate if your treatment plan changes.
If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than your estimate, federal law outlines a process for disputing certain charges.
Additional information about your rights is available through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
